Anyelo Jose Sarabia Gonzalez
Anyelo Jose Sarabia came to the US in 2023. He is now confirmed to be in CECOT.
Coming to the US
Anyelo Jose Sarabia left Venezuela with his sister, Solanyer Michell Sarabia Gonzalez, and came to the US, entering on November 22, 2023. Once in the US, both filed an asylum claim and Anyelo had a court date for his asylum application on May 20, 2025.
Tattoos
Solanyer has explained the tattoos that have made her brother suspect. One tattoo on his hand is of a rose with money as its petals. It was done in Arlington, TX in August 2024 because Anyelo thought it looked cool. In addition, Anyelo has two other tattoos, the words strength and courage written in Spanish on his bicep, and a bible verse in Spanish from Philippians 4:13. Solanyer confirms Anyelo has no affiliation with any gang nor any criminal record in Venezuela or the US.
Detention and expulsion
On January 31, 2025 Anyelo and Solanyer went to an ICE check in appointment in Dallas. After meeting with officers, Solanyer was allowed to leave, but Anyelo was detained. When she asked why Anyelo was being detained, the officers asked her if he belonged to a gang and the meaning of his tattoo visible on his hand. Around March 11, Anyelo was transferred from Bluebonnet Detention Facility to the Rio Grande Processing Center. Solanyer last spoke to him on March 14, 2025 when he told her he believed he was being sent to El Salvador. After that he was no longer listed on the ICE Detainee Locator.
